Fun Adventures with Grandma Martinson

We are so grateful when family comes to visit us!  We loved having my mom here and spending such an amazing week with us.  My mom has always wanted to go to Great Wolf Lodge since she heard about how much the kids enjoy going there.  This week her dreams came true.
We had a blast with Grandma Martinson.  She was so brave and went on all the waterslides, even the tornado.  We were all so impressed.
The highlight was when she said that she hasn't had so much fun in years!  That is a big win for Great Wolf Lodge!

The kids enjoy the storytime they do in the evening just before bed.

We had our own dance party!
This was new this year where they teach you dances on the tv.

Lazy river

Desi was flirting with a boy who was trying to impress her.  It was hilarious to watch them.

I think we went on the tube rides a bajillion time!  It was a blast!
We are getting into a new stage of our family because we could go as a family.  In the past, Derek and I would have to split time with the olders and youngers.  This trip all the kids were tall enough and loved going on the tube rides.

It is fun to see the kids challenge themselves and see the pride on their faces when they finish.

He didn't want to smile for the camera.

The tornado waterslide was a big hit.  It is the scariest...

It was fun to go on the rides with these cute girls.

These kids are so lucky to have Grandma!  She loves them to the moon and back!

Ashlyn is turning into such a teenager!

We have never had this room before and the kids enjoyed exploring and playing.

Oh I love my mama!

Family pic!

Took a few minutes in the adult hot tub until Emmett cried because he couldn't find us.  Short, but sweet!

We enjoyed our dip n dots

After we did Great Wolf Lodge, Grandma was sweet to treat us to a delicious meal.

After dinner, we went to our Airbnb and when we arrived there was a secret mission for the kids to complete.  It had clues throughout the house. It was fun.

Ash was excited for her own bed!

My mom is so creative.  She made a candy hunt for the kids in the morning when they got up.

This was the seating arrangement for the week.

We went to Legoland in Dallas too.  The kids had a great time.  They enjoyed seeing all the legos, the rides, and show.

It is amazing to see all the creations with legos.

This is a wheel that constantly spins.  The challenges was to make it all around without falling- we all failed.

We had a family competition with slapping the lights.

Star Wars (Emmett's current obsession)

Wizard ride

The driving ride was a big hit!

Lego Movie
It was so neat to watch this movie because it had a lot of Stoism and mindfulness.  It was fantastic to have watched it with the kids.

Emmett built a car out of legos with Grandma

Merry go round in the mall where the Legoland is located.

One of the fun events we went to was a Medieval Times Feast and Tournament.  It was a show with knights and a princess.  The knights jousted on the horses which was a lot of fun. During the show was a feast.  It was delicious.
It was such a great experience and fun that we learned about this time period that we studied in homeschool this year.

Inside the castle looked amazing!

So they place you in colored sections and we the yellow section.  Our horse and knight where also dressed up in yellow and you cheer for your knight!

The next day we went on a hike and it was a great hike.

This lady joined us for our hike.  She was really king and liked to talk a lot.

Grandma placed candy on each of the kids' beds when she left.  It was so sweet of her.  We got home from Dallas after our fun trip to Great Wolf Lodge, Medieval Dinner, and dropping her off at the airport... it made us miss her!  We had a great visit!

Ashlyn loves learning from YouTube.  She made a wallet from masking tape.  So impressive!

Love this time of year!  Bluebonnets and flowers are everywhere.  We had to take our pictures with them.  FYI it is the Texas state flower

Grandma visits the girls dance classes!

My mom loves puzzles!  It was so fun to do a puzzle with her.  She is the expert!

I loved watching Grandma dance.  She gots to the moves!!!!
The girls are teaching her their dances.

I enjoy the one on one time that I get with my mom.  When the kids were in school, we got to do some fun things together.  We went to hobby lobby, lunch with Derek, and then an antique store that I have never been in before.  I really enjoy spending time together!

More puzzles

The kids wanted to go to the library.

Grandma surprised them with a little purse and inside was a $5 bill.  We made a date and all went to the dollar store for them to choose a few gifts!
Thank you Grandma!

They loved writing notes to each other!

Playing catch and swinging in the front yard

We went to the Azalea Gardens.  It was in bloom and very beautiful.

We went on a date with Grandma and then we walked and talked. It was a great time!
We didn't want to see our double chins so we held the camera really high... ha ha.

Derek bit on some food and broke his tooth.  He had to call in Tamara to help him fix it.

Grandma can be so entertaining!

Twinners (missing teeth)

Picnic in the front yard

Grandma we are so grateful that you came out to visit!  We love having you here.  This was a very fun and eventful visit and we all had a blast!!!!  WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!!!

Derek made two videos: one from when Grandma came to stay with us and the other was Jenny's triathlon.

Only half of the movie worked for the triathlon.  I will have Derek try to do it again later.
