First week of school

Ashlyn wants me to post all her outfits for the first week of school.  Switching schools has been such a positive experience for her.  She absolutely loves being in 1s grade and enjoys her teacher!  We are so glad that it has turned out so great!
1st day: Daddy posted on last blog post.

2nd day

3rd day

4th day

Brinley's first day of preschool.  She loves it!  She woke up at 6 o'clock all ready to go.  She was so disappointed that it started at 9.  She had a blast and she wishes preschool was everyday.  Her favorite part was that she got 2 recesses (inside and outside recess).

This is her teacher Ms. Melissa...
Brinley was the first one in her class.

The house was more quiet than usual and I'm so glad that I get to have quality time with this cutie!
We played lots of games!

This is Brinley when we picked her up after the first day!

We started our Tueday Tea Party again now that school has started.  Grandma Martinson joined us to talk about the first day of school with everyone.

 Claire;s gymnastic class

Fun Friday!  We got to eat lunch with Ashlyn at school!

Derek and I didn't realize how big of an impact Hurricane Harvey would have on East Texas.  The city was giving free sand bags to the community.  So I went to get some and found out that you have to dig your own sandbags.  Well I asked Derek before I left about how many sand bags I should get and he said around 30.  Then when I found out that I had to do it by myself.....
I tried digging and putting the sand in the bag with very little success by myself.    After a few minutes a guy (the one in the overalls) and another man came and helped me fill 25 bags.  I was so touched with the selflessness and kindness.  Then I had another man and his wife offered to load the sandbags and drop them off at my house.   After we unloaded the bags I ran inside of my house to give them money and they started driving down the street.  Well I chased them down and the nice fellow said, " I am serving you and I hope that someone in return can serve me.  Blessing to you!"  My heart was completely touched with the community coming together, preparing for something that we don't know what is coming, and the kindness of selfless service.

I was so shocked to see Lufkin on the map of the national news.  Lufkin is very small and has the population of 35,000.  Pray for our safety please!

This girl doesn't realize there is Hurricane Harvey outside...

I have been working on a couple of projects that have been on my list of things to do since we moved here.   I have wanted to paint these furnitures with chalk paint for quite awhile and I finally got brace and just did it.  I watched a couple of youtube videos and got to it.  I love how they all turned out!

Last week of summer fun

These girls have been into the magnetic geoshapes.  They have been so creative in making pictures and pretending they are cookies.

I enjoy the mornings that I can delay the day from starting by playing the bed with these cuties!

Ashlyn and I were playing pictionary.  She is an artist at heart!

Sweet Claire started her own gymnastics class.  It is fun to see how excited she get to have her turn to do something fun.  She has gone to many lessons for her older sisters and it is finally her turn,  I can write in words how excited this little girl was the 1st day of gymnastics!!!

We enjoy our weekends when we get to watch a movie as a family!  They all love to cuddle (sit on) their daddy!  He is the best dad!

Daddy is a movie lover and we went to the movie Cars 3 in the theater and then for our date night we went again to watch Wonder Woman.

The youth where doing a carwash fundraiser and I was helping shake signs at cars.  I had these adorable people come to donate.

Ashlyn is so creative...

We got a new roof and so I took the girls to the Tyler Children's museum which is 2 hours away.  It was fun to get out of lufkin for the day and enjoy a place that we use to go to on a weekly occasion when we lived in Omaha.  It made me miss Omaha and the Van de Graaffs, but I am so glad we have so many wonderful memories.

This was their favorite activity!!!

These girls love babies!

I was trying to teach the girls to do the floating man with the mirror.
