Ashlyn wants me to post all her outfits for the first week of school. Switching schools has been such a positive experience for her. She absolutely loves being in 1s grade and enjoys her teacher! We are so glad that it has turned out so great!
1st day: Daddy posted on last blog post.

4th day
Brinley's first day of preschool. She loves it! She woke up at 6 o'clock all ready to go. She was so disappointed that it started at 9. She had a blast and she wishes preschool was everyday. Her favorite part was that she got 2 recesses (inside and outside recess).
This is her teacher Ms. Melissa...
Brinley was the first one in her class.
Indoor recess room
The house was more quiet than usual and I'm so glad that I get to have quality time with this cutie!
We played lots of games!
This is Brinley when we picked her up after the first day!
We started our Tueday Tea Party again now that school has started. Grandma Martinson joined us to talk about the first day of school with everyone.
Claire;s gymnastic class
Fun Friday! We got to eat lunch with Ashlyn at school!
Derek and I didn't realize how big of an impact Hurricane Harvey would have on East Texas. The city was giving free sand bags to the community. So I went to get some and found out that you have to dig your own sandbags. Well I asked Derek before I left about how many sand bags I should get and he said around 30. Then when I found out that I had to do it by myself.....
I tried digging and putting the sand in the bag with very little success by myself. After a few minutes a guy (the one in the overalls) and another man came and helped me fill 25 bags. I was so touched with the selflessness and kindness. Then I had another man and his wife offered to load the sandbags and drop them off at my house. After we unloaded the bags I ran inside of my house to give them money and they started driving down the street. Well I chased them down and the nice fellow said, " I am serving you and I hope that someone in return can serve me. Blessing to you!" My heart was completely touched with the community coming together, preparing for something that we don't know what is coming, and the kindness of selfless service.
I was so shocked to see Lufkin on the map of the national news. Lufkin is very small and has the population of 35,000. Pray for our safety please!
This girl doesn't realize there is Hurricane Harvey outside...
I have been working on a couple of projects that have been on my list of things to do since we moved here. I have wanted to paint these furnitures with chalk paint for quite awhile and I finally got brace and just did it. I watched a couple of youtube videos and got to it. I love how they all turned out!
