Christmas season

Tis the season!  We love the holiday traditions
Rudolph the oil rig Reindeer

Santa was so sweet to Emmett and wanted a special picture with him.

Beautiful Fall colors

Love having the holidays back in our house!
Christmas love!

Breakfast committee.  The girls are learning to make breakfast on their own.

We invited friends over to frost some Christmas cookies!

There is a cooking club in Lufkin that the girls tried.  The are given certain ingredients and they have to use their creativity to come up with a product.  They have to know the safety procedures, how the ingredients fit into my plate (like the food pyramid), and how they made their product.
This was their group.

Yogurt parfait for hummingbirds- so creative!

The Annual Christmas Light Parade.  It is fun to see the community come together to celebrate this time of year.

Christmas card making

The pond at the zoo.  Derek and I like to go walking around the trail on our Tuesday lunch dates. This is one of the Tuesdays- so pretty

BEWARE...
We have a tween on our hands- taking selfies

We have the most thoughtful and precious babysitters Hannah and Savannah.  One of them bought this blue gator for Emmett because every time she babysits he loves to read the book... that has a blue gator.
(I can't remember the book right now)

OLD BETHLEHEM

We read the Magic Treehouse book with the Night Ninjas and Claire drew a picture of it.

The girls piano teacher's husband passed away and this is her first Christmas without him.  We made a 12 days of Christmas for her.  She will open on present a day for 12 days.
We hope she enjoys it!

We don't go out for dessert very often and the kids wanted to go to orange leaf.
We got some real special kids.

and I am married to one special guy----ha ha

For Christmas I was missing the music at church and so I heard that Carpenter's Way (the Christian church we attended to for a little bit) was throwing a Happy Birthday Jesus party on Sunday so we decided to go.  They made these fun crafts!

On one of our hikes we spotted this log that goes over a small river and we all dared to walk over it.  It was scary, but all of us did it.  Desi was the first to do it.

Having floating sticks contests

I was teaching the girls to do high kicks

we had a hand stand competition

That hike and day was very special.  It was one of those days where everything seemed right in the world and we were together with the ones that we loved the most.

Ashlyn's Starry Night
She is really becoming a wonderful artist

Girls are becoming little cookers- Homemade chicken pot pies

Desi loves to write notes to Daddy when he is at work.  She will place them all at the garage door so the first thing he sees when he gets home is AAALLLLLLLL the notes.

For the Christmas season, each night after dinner we read the book The Christmas Pig by J.K. Rowling.  It was a lot of fun!

Her sweet notes
