Family Halloween Party

We started our Family Halloween Party with a yummy Halloween lunch.  We had "pumpkin" juice, ice with spiders, and grilled Halloween pizzas!  It was delicious.

We went to a play at the community college near us called A Year with Frog and Toad.  It was pretty bad. Bad singers, forgotten lines, etc. Derek and I thought this isn't real the whole time we were there.  Well it was so horrible that we told the kids that the intermission was the end of the show and went home.  ha ha.  I think we will continue our play going at the local high school.

Brinley had picture day at school and she was so excited that she wanted to take a picture.
Our precious Brinley!

So I got this prompting that I needed to go have lunch with Ashlyn at school.  I kept pushing that feeling to the side and kept  making every excuse in the book not to go.  Well I decided to just go because I felt like it was right.  How grateful I am for the promptings of the spirit.  We surprised Ashlyn in her class line and she gave me a big hug with tears in her eyes.  She told me that she was having a rough day!  I am so grateful for the Spirit and the willingness it takes to follow those promptings that we think aren't a big deal.
It is also a great opportunity to teach my girls about the power of the Holy Ghost!

The girls always love having lunch with Ash at her school!

I had to go to the bank because we closed on an investment house that we will rent out. YAY!!! We are excited for this new adventure.  We are learning so much about real estate and the Lufkin market.
There is something magical about going to the bank to get a sucker and swirl around the poles!  Going down memory lane from my childhood. ha ha.

After the bank we stopped at Daddy's work.  They love playing in the kids' area and getting a balloon from the staff!

I love teaching my girls about service.  We made cookies and gave some to our neighbor boy Steven.

Frosting Cookies!

I enjoy spending time with these two on T/Th.  The weather has been so perfect in the mornings we have to go for a walk.

Brinley waiting for her ride to preschool.
"Mom, will you take my picture with Ashlyn's carseat?"

The girls have been dressing up a lot and playing outside.

After school, it is in the 90's so we like to eat our popsicles outside!

Painting is the new morning activity

In October they have a band sing at an outside venue at noon.  We packed a lunch and had a blast listening to live music.

The event is callled Entertainment at the Park, but the kids were so disappointed there wasn't a park.  So after the music, we went to a nearby park to play and have fun.

Dad did a booth at the Hudson School District Health Fair and the girls had a blast exploring and watching the entertainment of the cheerleaders and dancers.

For FHE Dad spoiled our family with a Mexican Dinner at the "little door" restaurant.  We went and danced outside to Hispanic music.

Our ward put on a Cultural Festival and it was absolutely amazing!  We had so much fun eating homemade tamales and real mexican food, bounce house, bull riding, rock wall, train ride, and of course cotton candy.  They got three cotton candies that evening (the dentist turned his cheek and let the girls eat as much as they wanted- I'm surprised none of them got sick).

The girls sang with the primary kids I am a child of God.

Train ride (their favorite part)
Many rides around the church parking lot!

The girls were so brave and did the bull riding

It was decorated so amazing! They are planning on doing this each year.  It was a great way to celebrate the Hispanic culture.  Most of the evening was spoken in Spanish. We had tons of non members there too.  It was so great!

Many performances done by ward members which are Hispanic dances.
The is called "The Old Men Dance"

They hired a Mariachi Band!  It was so fun!
