Brinley had a field trip that was cancelled for the pumpkin patch and so I checked Ashlyn and Brinley out of school to join me for a MOPS playdate at a local pumpkin patch.  The kids had a great time!

This picture makes me laugh... Ashlyn loves her picture taken

Hayride

Jump House

We made paper pumpkin faces outside in the nice weather

We are so blessed to Facetime Granny this Halloween.  She dressed up like a clown and the girls were so excited.  Thanks for going all out Granny!  We are so impressed!

We ran a Family Fun Run for Halloween where we ran a mile together.  The girls did great!

We got our faces painted

During the race-
We think we can, we think we can

Ashlyn and I went on a special date!
I absolutely cherish my one on one time with her.  I love her so much!  It is fun to have these "grown up" chats with her.  She is just so mature for her age.
Of course this girl wanted ice cream

Well Ash and I were on our date, I found out about a city event that was happening at the art museum and we had about 30 minutes until it started to get everyone in a costume and to the event.  Kudos to Derek because he is dragged to events when he would rather spend time at home.
But for goodness sakes, this is HALLOWEEN!

Decorating pumpkins
It was so much fun to see a community come together and do something to celebrate a holiday.

Games

That evening we had our ward Trunk-or-treat.
Cupcake walk

When we got home the stars looked so beautiful outside (and they never stay up to see the beautiful stars).  So we laid a blanket in the front yard and stargazed for a bit.  Then we let the girls stay up and watched a Halloween movie!

Our bishop was riding around on a scooter in a white sheet and Desi said, "Look it is Jesus!"  It was hilarious!

We did our annual IHOP scary face breakfast.  We left our house at 6:30 to give enough time to eat before A and B and Daddy had to go to school.
(I love how we only go to IHOP once a year- it is definitely not my favorite place).

Derek was a mad science guy at work

For FHE I wanted to do something fun but because of the crazy day I had to think of something last minute.  We made these yummy oreo bat truffles and we turned off all the lights in the house to play flashlight tag.  I told this story that turned all the girls into little bats and I had to find them in the forest.  It was fun to have a bat themed evening.  It was "bat"astic!

All ready for Brinley's Halloween party at school

She got her face painted at her school party

We also got to see Ashlyn!

Oh how much fun these girls had going trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.  Their faces were of pure joy and excitement!  The holidays are so special with kids!

Candy is found everywhere at our house!

Hope y'all had a wonderful Halloween!
