Pumpkin Fun!

We had a blast with our Pumpkin Dinner!  We made pumpkin pizzas, "pumpkin juice" (Fanta), and pumpkin sugar cookies while we jammed out to Halloween music.  Then we ended the night watching Hotel Transylvania on a school night!  I love creating fun memories as a family especially during the 2nd most wonderful time of the year (of course Christmas being the 1st!)

Made with love: pumpkin shaped pizzas.

I have really loved this pumpkin juice idea!  It is hilarious when we will be at the store throughout the year and my kids will see the Fanta and yell out "PUMPKIN JUICE!"
We really only buy this drink during Halloween time. ha ha.

Emmett is sitting up on his own.
He has been my earliest sitter at 4 months.

This was his first time sitting up!  He was 4 months and just a week later he is a pro!

He just melts our hearts

First time eating baby food.  At first he didn't know what to think and then he just downed it!

He loves his jumper.  I can't get him to stay still for a picture.

This poor girl got sick and was sent home from school on a Thursday.  The nurse said that strep and the flu was going around and on Friday I took her to the doctor.  She was a trooper.
(Negative on the strep- thank goodness)
Then a few hours later I got a call from the school and had to get Ashlyn from school.
That means that everyone got sick except Emmett and I (Jenny).

Our tradition of conference bags!
This is definitely a highlight for the girls!

We also have an M&M jar and they get an M&M whenever they hear the word Jesus.

Sunday morning pre-conference activity.
I love the dollar section at Target!

Chunky is the new Hunky!

Tea Party Time

Air Fest
This is one of Derek's favorite family activities.  LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Beautiful landscape

This really kind lady saw that we had Emmett and gave us an umbrella to shield him from the hot sun.  It was so kind of this stranger to help us out!

We got home from the air fest all sweaty and hot!  Derek and I were ready to jump into the cool pool.  The girls didn't want to join us at the beginning so we had a nice quiet 10-15 minutes to ourselves.  As much as Derek and I love our alone time, we love playing in the pool with our kids!

Mommy School: Halloween

We lit our jack-o-lantern while we colored our jack-o-lantern masks

We pulled out all our Halloween books and read them for Mommy School.
It took us a good 30-45 minutes!
Desi's favorite: Boo!
Claire's favorite: Corduroy's Halloween
Mommy's favorite: The Littlest Pumpkin

Daddy usually gets off at 3 pm on Wednesdays and he was working later than expected so we decided to stop at a local gas station and pick out some pumpkins.  We picked the last ones- we feel lucky.

Ashlyn and Daddy carved her pumpkin and the other girls and I were planning on painting ours, but I couldn't find the paints.  So I had to get creative and we mod podged tissue paper on our pumpkins.  We all had a fun time!

3 days later...

Derek and I went running with this bundled up crew!

He loves his exersaucer.

I enjoy making ordinary events extraordinary.  We were having a regular dinner and we decided to set some candles in the middle of the table and eat in the dark (it was perfect because it was cloudy outside to make it extra dark) and then we made up a family spooky story.  We went around the table and each person added to our story.
It is fun to hear the creativity!

Ashlyn and Brinley had report card night

This guy was to hungry and decided to feed himself.

We picked up the girls from school and decided to enjoy nature.  We went to a park and had a great time.

He loved his first time in a swing!

Sweet girl!

I swear I don't have many clear pictures of this guy because he is always moving. I just love these series of pictures because it shows the different expression of him in 30 secs or less.

We love our time as a family!
We went to gather some supplies for our Halloween costumes and decided to go to the mall play area. I can't express enough how much I love my double umbrella stroller.

We ate dinner at Chick-fil-a and we opened one of the kids meal toys and it was animal sayings.  We sat there for a good hour eating and making up our own animal sayings.  It really was so much fun!
Example: You make me happy, "Fur" really- guess the animal (fox)
You are "purr"fect- (cat)

"Look, I am turning into a skeleton like Coco!" ha ha

This little girl is going to be a munchkin and she got to pick out a BIG lollipop for her costume.

To prep for our family Halloween costume we watched The Wizard of Oz.  It was so much fun to hear the kids yell and point to their costume.  We are so excited to dress up together.  I am soaking this time up because if it was up to me I would dress up as a family every year as they get older!

Daddy came home for lunch and wrapped up these babies.
WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

FAT and HAPPY!
Look at these rolls

Since having Derek's parents at our house, Derek and I have been wanting to make a better effort in FaceTiming our siblings. This past week we FaceTime with Lyssa and Kris and they shared with us a conference that they went to where they learned about Internet Safety with kids.  It sounds like an amazing experience and great learning opportunity they had. Two things that they shared with us that we immediately put into practice is giving our kids 8-12 hugs for 8 sec. It  has been really great for our kids and we also have been getting them out in nature more by going to the park more, outside in the front yard riding their bikes, and playing in the backyard on the swings and tramp.  Another thing that stuck out to Derek and I is setting our own limits of when we use our phones around our kids.  We are setting the example for them. Thanks Lyssa and Kris!

Mask making

Brinley lost her FIRST tooth the night before the first day of Kindergarten!
She is definitely going to look like a jack-o-lantern this Halloween!
